Other information: Before this monument was erected, there was a plaque at the site with the following inscription: "On 16 April 1993, forces of the Croat Defence Council (HVO) committed an atrocity in the village of Ahmići killing 116 Bosniak civilians - men, women and children aged from 3 months to 82 years. May they rest in peace, recite the Al-Fatiha, remember and warn." Next to it was a plaque bearing the names and years of birth of the victims.
