In memory of:
Civilians, citizens of Sarajevo killed by a shell while queueing up to obtain bread. 26 people were killed on the site or died a few days later from injuries sustained at the site.

Monument changes:
The initial number of those killed was 17. It was later changed to 26, after data on persons who died in hospital of injuries sustained at the site was gathered.
In 2008, names of killed citizens were added beneath the memorial plaque. The shell crater in the pavement in front of the memorial plaque was filled out in red (see "Sarajevo Roses").
